The Visionary Accountants team based in St Albans took part in Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for the St Albans Post Boxes charity appeal, which is raising money for three charities - Earthworks, Age Concern, Small Act of Kindness. These charities support local people who live in the St Albans area. Donations from our accountancy team for Christmas Jumper Day were matched by the company.
Tena Wallace, HR & Payroll Director, Visionary Accountants, St Albans, Hertfordshire said: ‘Christmas Jumper Day coincided with our staff Christmas Do on Friday December 13th. Our accountancy team went to Dylan’s in St Albans and then on to the Beech House for a drink, which is just up the road from our accountancy office on St Peter’s Street. Christmas jumpers were abandoned for dinner though - we all got changed, but we have had great feedback on Instagram when we posted our Christmas jumper photo! Coco, our office dog wore her outfit throughout the day, but sadly couldn’t attend the dinner as she misbehaves especially around platefuls of tomahawk steak! It was a popular night and we enjoyed bumping into many of our accountancy clients around St Albans who were all out with their teams too.’
Tena Wallace, HR & Payroll Director, Visionary Accountants, St Albans, Hertfordshire continued: ‘We are delighted to be supporting the St Albans Post Boxes charity this year with our very own Visionary post box topper that can be viewed on the post box at Clarence Road/Gainsborough Avenue, St Albans, AL1 4NJ. To date the St Albans Post Boxes charity has raised £8,525 which is 94% of their £9,000 target. You can donate to the St Albans Post Boxes charity here. We are really pleased with our topper design and it has even been admired locally. A local runner commented that “This is one of my favourite post boxes. Such a cute tree and little choir.” There is still time to take part in the St Albans Post Boxes charity competition.’
On the St Albans Post Boxes charity website, they reveal their story:
‘The postboxes of St Albans have been transformed once more in December 2019 by the amazing yarnbombing team. Each one of 54 post boxes have been sponsored by a local business; and we hope that the residents of and visitors to St Albans will dig deep and give generously as they spot these fantastic creations around St Albans and the surrounding areas. Every penny raised is split between the three local charities.’
