Visionary Accountants take cyber security seriously. We are working with our technology partners and have recently achieved our Cyber Essentials certification which helps prepare Visionary Accountants for the General Data Protection Regulation due in May 2018.
According to IASME Consortium a key part of the UK’s National Cyber Security Programme, Cyber Essentials, has been designed to meet two objectives:
- Provide a clear guide on the basic controls that should be implemented to mitigate risk
- Provide evidence for businesses to use to be able to demonstrate to clients, investors, insurers and others that the essential precautions have been taken.
To obtain Cyber Essentials certification Visionary Accountants has undertaken an independently verified self-assessment and was reviewed against five levels of security control.
Chris Wallace Managing Director of Visionary Accountants, St Albans said:
‘We use a variety of IT packages within our accountancy business so we believe it is necessary to implement Cyber Essentials certification to protect Visionary Accountants and our clients. Gaining this certification will help prepare us for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that will be introduced on 25th May 2018, which will strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals. We chose the Cyber Essentials certification because we wanted our business to be independently verified by a qualified assessor. Clients should be reassured we are doing everything possible to protect our business and their data.’
