Visionary Accountants is supporting the Wheathampstead loyalty scheme where village shoppers are rewarded for staying local and buying from their local shops. Any Wheathampstead businesses that are involved in the scheme can give out stickers that can be exchanged for goods. For example a free coffee at Charlie’s café or a free beer at The Reading Rooms. The loyalty card was launched by the Buy it Locally mascot Billy the Bee on Small Business Saturday. The loyalty scheme will be trialled until May 31st.
Wheathampstead Councillor Annie Brewster commenting in the Herts Advertiser in December said: ‘We are very proud of our vibrant village and this inspired scheme will help Wheathampstead residents support each other even more than they do already – and become more sustainable.’
Tena Wallace, HR and Payroll Director at Visionary Accountants, St Albans said: ‘We like to support local community initiatives so we wanted to get involved in the shopping loyalty card initiative in Wheathampstead. We live in the village and we use the local shops and services. We also have clients that are located in or close to Wheathampstead so it is important for them that the local community thrives and this initiative will encourage that.’
