In April 2015 the Pensions Regulator issued findings from an Employers Survey conducted in Autumn 2014, confirming that although more employers and intermediaries are aware of auto enrolment, not all small and micro companies due to stage in 2015 are fully prepared for auto enrolment.
Their findings concluded that 20% of companies due to stage between June and November 2015 had not started planning for auto enrolment.
Richard Porter, Independent Financial Adviser Visionary Accountants said: ‘The Regulator recommends all companies start planning for auto enrolment at least 12 months before their staging date. Some of these companies are still leaving it very late to plan for auto enrolment. Hopefully the recent reminder letters sent out by the Pensions Regulator will encourage other companies to plan ahead so they can meet their staging date.’
